Here at Hickory Hills Farm, we are offering 2 ply (sport weight) and 3 ply (worsted weight) wool yarn made with wool from our own sheep in natural colors and hand dyed. Our wool yarn is made from the finest fleeces of our flock of about 140 Rambouillet/Merino crossed sheep. The wool is processed into yarn at local woolen mills. Because of the fine quality of our wool, the yarn is soft yet strong, We are also selling hand knit hats, headbands and some neck gators made from our yarn. We rotationally graze our ewes year-round and our farm uses soil conservation principles and practices. Shearing occurs in April each year. We have lamb cuts (chops, racks, legs, shoulders, ground, stew meat and shanks) plus locally made processed meat products such as summer sausage, gyros meat, smoked leg of lamb, pepper sticks and lamb jerky all made from 100% lamb (no pork or beef added) for sale on site. We sell our meat products to local restaurants, grocery stores and at Nelson Creamery. Come visit the farm! Spinning demonstration and farm tours available.
